American Sniper movie review

Director – Clint Eastwood

Cast – Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Kyle Gallner, Cole Konis, Been Reed

Storyline – Navy SEAL Sniper Chris Kyle is the deadliest sniper in American History, who protects the lives of his troops on the battlefield. But when he comes home he can’t leave behind the awful things that happened when he was on duty.

My review – when I saw American Sniper I was amazed on what a job Bradley Cooper did as portraying this man. When I heard that he was going to be playing a deadeye sharpshooter I couldn’t come to my self and say it was going to be good. Bradley Cooper just doesn’t seem like the guy to lay this role. But holy shit he proved me wrong. He had to pack on at least 40 pounds of muscle for this movie. Because if you see him in the hangover movies he’s a twig, but this movie he’s fucking huge. But for the movie, I really enjoyed this movie, I enjoyed how they portrayed the war, the hidden messages about the war, and the life of the soldiers when they come home to their family. The movie did a great job of not just focusing on the war aspect of it but also the hardships of PTSD of the soldiers when they get home. There was one scene in this movie that really got my saying, “wow these guys are truly amazing.” And for a movie to do that is seems really hard but not for this movie. When they showed that he died at the end everyone was in shock, and I was surprised because I thought everyone knew that he died. Fun fact, the father of Chris in real life, told Clint Eastwood that if he portrayed his son in a bad way that he would kill him. That so much pressure for this movie, one mistake you have that whole family down your throat. Overall this movie moves you, makes you want to become a Navy SEAL and entertains you from start to finish, I would say SEE IT 5/5

Selma Movie Review

Director – Ava DuVernay

Cast – David Oyelowo, Carmen Ejogo, Tim Roth, Giovanni Ribisi

Storyline – a chronicle of Martin Luther King Jr’s quest to get African Americans rights to vote and have equal rights. He leads marches to Selma to show is authority.

My review – before I start this review I have to say one thing. It gets me pissed off that a shitty movie like Taken 3 makes so much more money than a movie like this. But for my review I really enjoyed this movie. It was a great length wasn’t to long wasn’t to short. Who ever casted David Oyelowo as MLK is a genius. This guy was great. I had no clue what other stuff this guy did before this movie, but I’m excited to see what his future hold for him he’s a real talented guy. The thing I liked best about this movie is that this movie didn’t show you how MLK grew up, it cut to the part of his life that that people came to see. The supporting actors were great in this movie also. The creepy guy from Ted was the president’s helper which I found funny. All the drama is this movie was well done, the white cops were dicks, but they did it very well, and some of MLK’s speeches were outstanding. I had goosebumps listening to his speeches, they made you say “WOW”. My favorite thing about this movie though, is that they showed MLK having s tonight time. I say this because Sometimes in these kind of movies, they portray the hero as indestructible and nothing fasces them, but not in this movie. They showed him getting mad at his wife, almost loosing it in jail, and yelling at his friends. Overall, this movie is moving and makes you get goosebumps, the acting was great, the screenplay was great, and the ending was great. If you haven’t seen this movie I highly recommend you see this and not the shit show of Liam Neeson.

Freaks and Geeks TV Series Review

Director – Jake Kasdan and Judd Apatow

Cast – Linda Cardellini, John Francis Daley, James Franco, Samm Levine, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Martin Starr

Storyline – a TV show about two groups of high school from freshman to juniors, who are having trouble with drugs, grades, bullies, and overall life.

Review – the reason I started watching this show, is because I’m a huge fan of James Franco and Seth Rogen. But when I got more into the show I started to like the other cast members a lot also. This show had everything from comedy, drama, and some very touching moments. I didn’t know much going into this show, the only thing I knew was that it was a very highly rated show. I was bummed out when I found out there was only 18 episodes in the series. If I had to pick from which group I enjoyed watching more I would have to pick the geeks. The reason for this is because they had the trouble of dealing with bullies and girls. This kid in the show, Sam Weir, liked this girl called Sidney, and throughout the whole show he is trying to get with her. I’m not going to tell you what happened because you really need to watch this show. Seth Rogen didn’t say may in the first couple episodes but then he came to life and whenever he was talking I was laughing. I was confused at first because I wasn’t sure if I had to watch this show in order, so I did, and the first few episodes I didn’t seem like you did but when you get closer to the end you had to. So if you think about watching this show, watch the in order. When I got to the final episode I actually got sad, because this show connects with you and touches you. Overall, this show is very addictive to watch, with an all star cast, funny scenes, and problems we go through everyday, if you haven’t watched this show yet I highly recommend you to go watch it (it’s on Netflix).

Saturday Night Movie Review – Wolf of Wall Street

Director – Martin Scorsese

Cast – Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, John Bernthal

Story – in The wolf of Wall Street Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) plays a penny stockbroker who has trouble with the FBI, because of his illegal stock breaking.

Review – It took me forever to watch this movie, I don’t know why, I just never got around to it. But thank God I watched this movie. I absolutely loved it. The acting was great, the screenplay was great, and the hidden comedy in it was great. I thought to myself before I watched this, do I really want to watch a three hour movie on a Saturday night, or study for finals, definitely watch a three hour movie. When I was watching it I thought there was going to be parts that dragged, but the whole movie from start to finish was entertaining. I did really like how they showed how it all started off, and how he trained his workers to do exactly what he wanted them to do. When a movie shows the buildup of anything, I get hooked immediately, because I want to see if it will succeed or fail. I loved how DiCaprio was that kind of dick that you wanted to do well, and not fail. He was just a cool guy. Jonah Hill in this movie was great too. It was nice to see him have a different kind of comedic presence, rather than just slapstick or dirty comedy. The jokes where very well done in this movie also. I was thinking throughout the movie, for some of the speeches that DiCaprio did in this movie, how did he win a fucking Oscar. He was amazing in this movie. So, if you haven’t seen this movie yet, I highly recommend it. But you may not want to watch this with your parents; a lot of full front nudity. I give this movie a 5 star rating.

My top 5 Favorite movies of all time

In these list I’ll tell you guys my favorite movies I have watched to this day. These aren’t reviews of the movies, instead I’ll explain why I enjoy these movies the most

The Jackass Franchise

I couldn’t pick between all the movies they made. I really enjoy these movies, because you can lean back and just laugh your ass off. Yes I understand that they aren’t the best movies made, but they are easy to watch and easily enjoyable. Some of the stunts are crazy and think why would you ever do that, then you remember they are doing it for the viewers. I’m a fan of the TV show also, and I love seeing from the TV show that starred on MTV to Jackass 3D, the film production, and the quality of the cameras they are using. The amount of money they have gotten throughout these films are amazing. If you haven’t seen any of these movies I recommend watch them and laugh.

8 Mile

8 Mile is my favorite film about s growth of a star today. The reason is because they show the real hardships in Detroit, and you can understand what Eminem had to go through to get out of that kind of life. They also have the story of Eminem down pretty well. For being a big fan of Eminem I had known some source material going into this and they stuck to it. The battle at the end is memorable and you soon won’t forget it. You will have to have respect for Eminem after you see this film.

SpiderMan is by far my favorite superhero movie made to this day. I loved everything about this movie, from the acting, to the story, and the action. I remember seeing this film for the first time and I thought to myself, “this is the best superhero movie ever.” SpiderMan 2 was amazing too, but I had to pick the first one, because of green goblin, my favorite villain ever, and Spider-Man 3, well let’s just leave that one alone. I’m not a huge fan of Andrew Garfield as the new Spider-Man, so I’m not s huge fan of the Amazing Spider-Man. But I highly recommend this movie if you haven’t watched it yet.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy was by far my favorite movie of 2014. Just the overall action and comedy mixed in there was great. The cast was great and the characters were something people haven’t seen before. I know tha I said the Spider-Man is my fa iota superhero movie of all time, and this may sound weird, but I don’t classify Guardians of the Galaxy as much as a superhero movie as an action movie, if that makes sense. I enjoyed ever aspect of this movie, I was never bored and I can’t wait for the sequel for this coming up in a year or so.

Borat is by far, in my opinion, the funniest movie made to this date. I literally cried the first time I saw this film. From him singing the national anthem of his country at the rodeo, to the bed in breakfast, I could not contain myself. I’m a big fan of Ali G in da house and Bruno. But this one tops it all. It’s Laing out loud humor you will not forget soon. I highly recommend this movie to any movie fan, and just want to laugh your ass off!

Into the Woods review

Actors – Anna Kendrick, Meryl Streep, Chris Pine, Emily Blunt, Daniel Huttlestone, James Corden

Plot – A baker and his wife would like to have a kid but a witch ( Meryl Streep) puts a curse on that family because of the baker’s father, who stole from the witches Garden. His father stole magic beans which made the the witch become a witch because of a spell her mother put on her. The only way they can have a child is if they retrieve 3 items: golden slipper, cow as white as milk, and hair as yellow as corn. Then we have the classic Cinderella tale. Then the jack in the bean stock tale.

My review – I had many different thoughts on this movie. It started peppy and enjoyable and I love looking at Anna Kendrick, but throughout the film I got annoyed. I got annoyed at the signing, because it wasn’t very good. Jack was a terrible singer and the Red Riding Hood wasn’t much better. I thought there would be more dialogue among the other actors but it was 90% singing which got me mad. The story was fine, you knew that the baker and his wife were going to find the three items, it was predictable. As for the Cinderella story, they didn’t really aim much on that aspect as I thought they would. They paid more attention to the baker and his wife trying to find the three items, yes Cinderella pretty much gave it to them but still focus on the other 3 stories in the movie. And the ending of this movie- HOLY SHIT- it kept going and going. I remember my dad telling me that he was going to go to the bathroom and I told him there’s only 5 minutes left…..nope more like 45 minutes, literally! They could of ended it around an hour and 35 minutes but they made it another 45 minutes and it didn’t make sense. The ending was very rushed I felt and not well put together. So from my review I say you should RENT THIS. I was going to say just leave it but honestly there were some funny parts and touching moments in this movie you may like.

Top 5 movies I can’t wait for in 2015

From the movie list of 2015 there were some that caught my eye and some that looks like crap. This list I’ll countdown the top 5 movies I’m excited for in 2015. Now this list is all opinion based. And remember these aren’t reviews since they having came out yet. Here it is.

Ted 2

Ted 2. Ted 2 is directed by Seth Macfarlane who also directed and started as Ted in the first movie. With the first movie I really enjoyed and I laughed a lot. I am a huge fan of family guy and I watch it daily. But with MacFarlane’s last movie, Million ways to die in the west, I had mixed reviews for that film, it was funny at parts but overall it was a bust. But since I was a big fan of the first Ted I’m pretty excited for this one coming up.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is directed by Steven Pink ( director of the first one). From what it looks like the original cast is coming back for this movie- John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Clark Duke, and Craig Robinson. From what it looks like from the trailer they go into the future and see if they can change more of the future for there own benefit. But along the way they make some bad changes and they keep going back and trying to fix it and that’s the movie. I really enjoyed the first movie and I have high hopes for this sequel coming out.

Straight outta Compton

Straight outta Compton doesn’t have a lot of information about the movie, just the cast and the director which I have no clue who they are, but I’m a big fan of these guys songs. It shows the rise and fall of NWA and how they revolutionized rap music. It shows the hardships and Compton and how to get out of it with help. I enjoyed Boyz in the Hood, but I’m not sure if this movie would be the same, but I have high hopes for this movie.

Avengers Age of Ultron

Avengers Age of Ultron is one of the most anticipated films of 2015. Following the blockbuster event of its original successor. It stars Robert Downing Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, many others. Tony stark aka iron man, try’s to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program and that’s when everything starts up. When Ultron comes into play its up to all the Avengers to stop him and save the world. The first movie was amazing and I know that this one wing disappoint any fans, and can be possibly the biggest blockbuster of the year.

Jurassic World

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, with his out breaking role in Guardians of the Galaxy, and it takes place 22 years since the fall at Jurassic Park. Isla Nublar has a functioning dinosaur theme park, for the corporation they want a new attraction, while they are making this new attraction it backfires terribly. I was a fan of the original Jurassic Park and when they started making sequels my love for them went down each movie. But, it seems with this one they are putting a whole new element in the movie and trying to reboot the franchise. I can’t wait for this movie and I hope it lives up to all the hype.

Women in Black 2 Angel of Death

The Women in Black 2 is directed by Tom Harper (not the director of the first one). When I saw this movie I didn’t really have high hopes going into it, because horror movie sequels never work out that well now a days. I actually liked the first one and I got at least a little creeped out by it, but this one didn’t scare me or entertain me at all! The acting wasn’t terrible, but that didn’t bring the movie up and make it better. The one thing that gets me pissed off the worst in horror movies JUMP SCARES, and holy shit this movie was all jump scares. There was a scene that could of been actually really creepy, but they ruin it with a jump scare. Where the jump scares predicable….yes. The first Women in Black did have a few jump scares, but it also had a few good other scares, which this movie didn’t. Right from the start I knew how this movie was going to end. The scares weren’t well done, and even though the acting was decent that doesn’t stop me from saying The Women in Black 2, you should LEAVE IT

My top 5 movies of 2014

2014 brought many enjoyable movies for all of us, but also a lot of bad ones. I’ll give you my personal top 5 movies of 2014. Remember they are my opinion, so the ones I enjoyed the most, sorry art house fans. Let’s. Get it started.

22 Jump Street

22 jump street was a great sequel to 21 jump street. Was it predicable, yes, but I laughed my ass off on some parts. Going into the movie I didn’t know what to expect of it, yes I know I would laugh, but when I came out of the theater I didn’t think I would enjoy it more than the first one. Even the credits made me laugh, if you haven’t seen this movie I highly recommend you watch it.

Ride Along

Ride Along. Hey remember I said it was my opinion. Ok, so Ride along started Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. I have seen many Ice Cube movies and Kevin Hart movies (some I like some I don’t). When I went into the movie theater to watch this I had already a feeling that this movie was going to suck. I was wrong. I love when a movie can do that-you know you will hate it but you end up loving it. Yes, the acting wasn’t all there but the comedy and humor made up for that. It was good enough, so a sequel is being filmed now.

The Drop

The Drop. The Drop was a very quiet movie in 2014. I wouldn’t have known about it, but my dad and I went to go see it and I didn’t know what the hell this movie was about going into it, so I had an open mind. Throughout the movie I was entertained James Gandolfini was amazing in his role (RIP) and Tom Hardy was good too. Those two had very good chemistry in the movie and it showed. If you haven’t heard about this movie I say you go watch it NOW.

The Interview

The Interview. The interview stars Seth Rogen and James Franco and a hot CIA agent p, oh what the hell I bet you all know this. Funny story about this movie, I literally waited three months for this movie to be released, I’m a huge Rogen Franco guy, and when it was canceled I was so pissed. But then they started showing it at a couple theaters by my house. So me and my dad go to see this and this theater is disgusting, but that didn’t help us laugh our asses off. Honesty, there was one scene I was actually crying. Was it the funniest Rogen Franco movie ever made…. No, but it will be one of them. The controversy made it more fun the watch too, because you felt like you were going against the media. Please go watch this movie you will not regret it.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians on the Galaxy was the movie I had the most fun with this whole year. Every single second had me entertained. They put some very good humor into it that worked really well. Some touching moments at the end also. My thought it was the most overrated movie of 2014, I think he is crazy this movie was amazing. I’m counting down the days to the sequel.
